V5 is an amino-terminal protein consisting of a cysteine-rich region at the C- terminus, similar to a cysteine-rich metal binding domain. It is encoded by the "P" gene of Paramyxovirus SV5 . V5-tag antibody is a useful tool for detecting recombinant proteins containing V5 epitopes.
