CD44 is a type of transmembrane glycoprotein and the most important hyaluronic acid receptor on the cell surface. It is involved in regulating various biological behaviors of cells, including cell adhesion, migration, proliferation and differentiation, and wound healing [1] . Studies have shown that CD44 promotes invasive tumor metastasis, and inhibition of CD44 activity induces invasive tumor apoptosis. The combination of CD44 and hyaluronic acid can trigger the binding of CD44 cytoplasmic region to signal transduction molecules, induce activation of intracellular signal transduction pathways, stimulate calcium mobilization and CD44 binding to cytoskeleton proteins, and enhance cell adhesion, proliferation and metastasis[2] . It is generally believed that the signal transduction process of hyaluronic acid dependent on CD44- mediated cytoskeletal protein activation is considered to be an important mechanism for tumor cell migration and metastasis[3] . This product is a CD44- targeted monoclonal antibody, which can be used for flow cytometric detection of over-expressing CD44 recombinant cell lines and detection of recombinant protein activity.
